Using the design thinking process, we will work together to develop a customized strategy and the tools necessary for your company to implement a successful Veteran talent management program.

 

HR Navigator has developed a course of instruction consisting of four modules which can be delivered in person to small groups at your location. These courses can be stand-alone if requested but are really best utilized when part of the consulting process (included when you hire us to develop your company strategy).

 

HR Navigator is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®. This program in it’s entirety is valid for 5 PDCs for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®. 

Module 1

Understanding Military Culture

Cultural differences between the military and civilian environments can cause HR professionals and hiring managers to miss out on excellent Veteran candidates.

In this module, we will discuss military culture and the differences between the various branches of service.

This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®

Module 2

What Veterans Bring to Your Team

Veterans bring both hard skills and soft skills that have been ingrained into their lifestyle.

In this module, we will discuss Veterans employment statistics, discuss the soft skills that Veterans bring to your team and learn how to use a military skills translator to understand the hard skills Veterans have.

This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®

Module 3

Hiring your Veteran Team

Veterans bring the knowledge, skills and abilities but how do you attract them to your business?

In this module, we will discuss tools and tips to attracting Veterans to your company utilizing social media and your website, how to register as a Veteran friendly employer in your state (if applicable) and discuss how to avoid unintentional bias when working with Veterans.

This program is valid for 1.5 PDCs for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®

Module 4

Retaining Veteran Talent

Veterans are looking for a new mission and team when they leave their military service.

In this module, we will discuss specific Veteran recognized retention steps that will assist you in retaining your Veteran talent.

This program is valid for 1.5 PDCs for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®
